Podcasting (or, netcasting) is the process of uploading syndicated audio or video files online so that people can listen to them on-the-go. Most people know the ever-popular Apple iTunes and inside iTunes is the largest podcast directory to-date with thousands of podcasts on a wide variety of topic–from laundry (A Slob Comes Clean) to car repair (Under The Hood Car Repair Talk Radio Show) to business (HBR Ideacast). Podcasting, though, has yet to hit its peak of popularity in the Web, Social Media & Mobile marketing world. And, that’s where Small Business owners like you can really take advantage of the opportunity. Social selling today requires more, higher-quality content production from Small Business than ever before, and podcasting is no exception. It takes hard work. However, the power of podcasting will bring compound dividends to your business like no other marketing medium today. So, how do you start a podcast? What software, equipment and services do you need? And, how do you promote a podcast? Those are all good questions, and all those and more will be covered in this full-day workshop with Ray Sidney-Smith, Web & Mobile Strategist, blogger and podcaster.
Check out some of these podcasts, as examples of some of the best on the Web today:

We have limited space for workshop attendees because of the hands-on involvement required, so there’s some homework necessary for all participants who register. First to complete all the homework gets to register! It’s the fairest way we could select those will participate.
Here’s who this workshop is for:
Do you already have a blog or newsletter that you’ve been consistently publishing content on for more than a year? If not, are you committed fully to producing consistent content for your podcast?
Do you have a product or service you can provide, or ship/deliver, anywhere in the US? (Although podcasts can be for local audiences, we’re looking for those who have a potentially broad audience base.)
Are you a subject matter expert or thought leader in your profession/industry?
Do you have a general idea of what content you’d like to produce for your podcast?
If you answered “yes” to three or more of the questions above, you’re a great candidate to participate in the full-day workshop! Visit the Podcasting for Small Business page on our website to see the homework assignments for the class. Once you’ve completed both assignments, we will send you the information to register for the workshop.
