How long have you been in business in Alexandria? Stormfire Productions was formed in 2019, and started running full time in 2022. 

Tell me a little about your business: Stormfire Productions is an award-winning podcast production and consultation company focused on the development of creative audio storytelling and fiction podcasts. 

How has the SBDC supported your business? In so many ways! The Alexandria SBDC was there for Stormfire Productions from the very beginning as I started formalizing my production work. Not only did they offer clear guidelines in how to set up my LLC, but they also gave me access to mentorship, recommendations for business development and marketing, and additional opportunities to learn to build a sustainable business. In a world where creative businesses face unique challenges, the Alexandria SBDC took the time to provide grounded and practical guidance. I feel more confident having the wealth of SBDC’s knowledge at my disposal and the support from such a strong community.  

Something unique you are doing this holiday season with your business. Stormfire Productions has launched an initiative called “The Storyteller Project”, which is an experiment in community based storytelling meant to support diverse storytelling and offer community support to new voices in audio. Our first story can be listened to on “TALES FROM THE HEARTH”, available wherever you get your podcasts. 

Favorite thing about the holiday season in Alexandria: Sampling delicious seasonal food and drink at local restaurants across the city! 

Something you are thankful for: My spouse, and our date nights every week at a different restaurants in Alexandria.  

Favorite Alexandria business to visit during the holidays (besides your own): Listening to great music coming from our fellow audiophiles over at Double Sharp Audio in Del Ray!  

Favorite holiday tradition: Dancing salsa during Noche Buena with the Cuban side of my family.  

Highlight of the year: 2022 was an incredible year both personally and professionally—I got married this past June and I took the leap and started running Stormfire Productions full time.
