What are the requirements to participate?
The Spring 2019 Amplify program is open to solopreneur business owners who have been generating revenue for more than two years. Preference will be given to City of Alexandria businesses, but all are welcome to apply.
What is the deadline to apply?
We are accepting applications until February 19, 2019
How much does the program cost?
The program fee is $250 for each participant. If you attend all six sessions and complete the program, the Alexandria SBDC will refund $125 of that fee.
How will participants be selected?
Alexandria SBDC staff will review applications and select a group of participants based on their responses. Our goal is to create a group that will be successful individually and that will support one another. Past experience has shown that the most successful groups are those comprised of business owners at a similar stage in their business, but in different industries.
What should I expect from each session?
For each session, participants should plan to devote 3 – 5 hours for preparation, participation, and follow-up. Each session will require pre-work. During each meeting, participants will take part in a variety of activities, from guided individual reflection to peer coaching to discussions with experienced business leaders. Participants will have homework to complete after the session.
When and where will sessions be held?
Sessions will be held on the following Mondays in Spring 2019:
Sessions will be 90 minutes long as will be scheduled to begin between 4:30 and 5:30 pm (exact time will be determined by the group).Since much of the Amplify program is based on peer discussion, it is important that all applicants commit to attend and actively participate in all six sessions.
