Crowdfunding is a way for entrepreneurs, artists, nonprofits and others to fund their projects. It leverages your social media, personal and professional networks to get small contributions from many individuals in return for a one-time perk. Done right it should also create a “street team” of supporters and ambassadors for your organization. Successful reward-based crowdfunding campaigns are well planned, focused, short-lived and often fun! It takes a great deal of thought and preparation to run a successful campaign. Find out more from the experts, Duc Troung of Virginia Department of Small Business and Supplier Diversity and Ray Sidney-Smith of W3Consulting. Note that the focus will be on reward/perk (morning) and donation-based (afternoon) crowdfunding campaigns in these workshops. Please attend the workshop that pertains to your organization, for-profit in the morning and nonprofit in the afternoon.
